faces of India

It has been three months ago since I have travelled India but this country is still present in my day to day life. At the moment I have to do my portofolio for University and so I just went through my photos and decided to share some more with you.

Some tourists find it annoying and weird when people come too close, touch your hair and skin and ask strange question such as "what is your fathers name? What is your brothers name? What is your mothers job?"; I also had to get used to such manners and the way especially kids look up to you like you are a superstar just because of your skin colour, but through the whole four weeks I met so many different and beautiful people who made me understand their way of life. Unity in Diversity, thats what Indians say about their country and what I think is the best way of describing it. For me as a "Westerner" it was the first time to enjoy the storys being told in every face and expression. I realised that I have never paid enough attention to the faces in my own sourrunding, where I grew up only because I was too used to see "white people". I think of it differntly now thanks to the faces on another globe who opend my eyes.
